False Emails

Goldenwest Credit Union has been advised of false emails in circulation which claim to be sent from various merchants and service providers. Many false emails attempt to catch the recipient’s attention during the holiday season by claiming that there is a problem with an order for merchandise or services.
How to Protect Yourself
Members are encouraged to be cautious when reviewing emails and other electronic communications. Never click a link in a message that was not expected. Before providing any personal information in response to an email or other message, contact the merchant or service provider directly to confirm the origin of the message.
Goldenwest Members can further protect themselves from Identity Theft by enrolling in the Fraud Defender Service. For details, click here.
