Great news for Goldenwest members! Sam’s Club and Costco will begin accepting all Visa credit cards as a form of payment for purchases. Now you can get the savings from your favorite club or warehouse and earn Extra Awards points with your Goldenwest Visa Rewards card at the same time!

Sam’s Club:
Beginning February 1, 2016, Goldenwest members can use their Visa Rewards card to make purchases at Sam’s Club. That means every time you use your Goldenwest Visa Rewards Card, you’re earning rewards points! If you prefer, you can continue to use your Goldenwest Visa debit card at Sam’s Club.

“Everything we do is in an effort to better serve our members and extend the value of membership. By accepting Visa credit cards, we are giving our members more ways to shop that are convenient for them,” said Tracey Brown, chief member officer at Sam’s Club.

Ramón Martín, senior vice president of merchant solutions at Visa Inc., is also excited about this deal. “Sam’s Club is the eighth largest retailer in the U.S. and we are thrilled to open up Visa credit acceptance in their more than 650 clubs across the U.S. and Puerto Rico,” he says. “Whether in person or online, our goal is to ensure payments are fast, easy, and secure for cardholders everywhere.”

Sam’s Club will also begin integrating Visa Checkout later this year.

Costco:
Following right behind Sam’s Club, Costco will begin accepting Visa credit cards in stores beginning April 1, 2016. This decision is following the termination of an agreement between American Express and Costco. The new deal between Costco and Visa is said to be similar to the deal Costco previously held with American Express.

Visa will soon be the only credit card accepted by Costco. This means Goldenwest members can use their Visa Rewards Card to make Costco purchases. Costco will also continue to accept Visa and MasterCard debit cards, checks, and cash as methods of payment.
