Goldenwest Opens New Branch In Sandy

Sandy Branch ribbon cutting

SANDY, UT: January 16, 2019 – Goldenwest Credit Union held a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration for a new branch located at 7926 South 1300 East in Sandy. The branch recently relocated from inside Macey’s Grocery Store on 1300 East to the new site.

“Since opening a Goldenwest branch inside Macey’s Grocery Store 15 years ago, we have built a loyal membership base in the Sandy area,” stated Kerry Wahlen, Goldenwest President/CEO. “Adding a full-service, free-standing branch in Sandy will not only allow us to better serve our existing members, but also provide greater exposure for the Credit Union to local residents, businesses and patrons. We look forward to continuing our growth and contributing to the community.”

Goldenwest Board Chairman Bill Hart, joined Wahlen, other Board members, Credit Union officers, managers and employees to officially open the new branch. Sandy Mayor Kurt Bradburn and Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce President Greg Summerhays also participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

“You make us look good,” said Bradburn. “Your continual growth is a testament of how you run your business and put your members first. Thank you for being a great partner in our community.”

Joshua Peart previously managed the original Sandy branch and will continue to supervise branch activity, originate mortgages and provide insurance services from the new office.

The Sandy branch features drive-thru teller lanes, a walk-up ATM, and a traditional teller line in the office. The branch offers a full range of services including vehicle loans, mortgages, lines of credit, insurance, free checking, and instant-issue Visa cards.
