  As your credit score goes up, you can request that we lower your rate. Additionally, paying down the balance on the credit card helps to lower the amount of interest owed.

• What affects my credit card interest rate?

  The interest rate when you first open your credit card is based on Wall Street Prime plus a margin, based on your credit score. The Visa Basic interest rate is variable, meaning it can increase or decrease based on Wall Street Prime rates.

• Does the Visa Basic Credit Card earn any points or cashback?

  No, the Visa Basic Card is our lowest-rate card and does not accrue any points or cashback.

• Can I convert my Visa Basic Credit Card to another card type?

  Yes! You can convert your card at any time to another card type that Goldenwest Credit Union offers.
