Goldenwest Opens Branch in Payson
Payson, UTAH - August 13, 2025 – Goldenwest Credit Union marked another milestone on August 11th with the grand opening of its 51st full-service branch, located at 824 West 800 South, in Payson, next to Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
“From our roots as a railroad credit union founded in Ogden in 1936, Goldenwest Credit Union has grown to more than 50 locations throughout Utah and Idaho,” said Kerry Wahlen, President/CEO. “The Payson office is our sixth branch in Utah County, and we are thrilled to serve more than 1,500 existing members in the area—while welcoming new members and local businesses into the Goldenwest family.”
The grand opening celebration drew strong community support, with local leaders and civic guests in attendance, including Payson City Mayor Bill Wright and Payson-Santaquin Chamber President Jim Rowland. Goldenwest Board Chairman Dan Musgrave, Director Steve Carroll, and members of the Credit Union’s Executive Team also participated in the event, joined by over 100 employees, members, and residents. Leon Muhlestein, a Payson local resident, has been appointed Branch Manager and will oversee daily operations and lead the branch’s member service team.
The new Payson Branch offers a comprehensive suite of financial products and services, including vehicle loans, home mortgages, lines of credit, free checking accounts, instant-issue Visa cards, and insurance solutions. The branch also features multiple drive-thru lanes and a drive-up ATM, providing members with added convenience and accessibility.
