Goldenwest Opens Orem Branch

OREM, UT: October 31, 2016 – Goldenwest Credit Union marked the official opening of a new office in Utah County with a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 27th. The branch is located at 25 West Center Street in Orem inside Ridley’s Family Market.

“Opening a branch inside Ridley’s is a great opportunity to team-up with a local retailer that is rapidly growing throughout Utah,” stated Kerry H. Wahlen, Goldenwest Credit Union President/CEO. “Goldenwest and Ridley’s embrace many of the same ideals when it comes to providing a family friendly, value-driven environment for members and consumers.”

The Credit Union has been looking for a new branch site in Utah County since they were given notice to vacate their location in the Plum Tree Shopping Plaza in Provo earlier this year. The area is scheduled to undergo major renovation for a new mixed-use development.

“As we searched for a new location in Utah County, we felt we could best serve our existing members and advance our plans for growth in the vicinity by establishing a branch in Orem,” continued Wahlen. “We’re excited to be welcomed by the vibrant City of Orem…there are so many exciting opportunities in this area.”

Goldenwest Board Chairman Bill Hart joined with Wahlen, Credit Union officers, managers and employees to officially open the new branch. Also participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony was Orem City Mayor Richard Brunst and Miss Orem Outstanding Teen Glory Thomas.

Lifelong Orem resident Tyler Keil will manage all branch activity, originate mortgages and provide insurance services from the new office. Keil has been employed by Goldenwest for five years, and previously worked in a similar role for three years at the Credit Union’s former Provo office.

The Orem branch offers a wide range of products and services, including mortgage origination, consumer lending, personal lines of insurance, commercial accounts and a walk-up Co-op Network ATM. The branch also serves members of other credit unions as part of the Credit Union Service Center shared branch network.

Goldenwest partnered with Utah-based Wadman Corporation for construction of the branch.
