Logan, Ut: November 13, 2014 - USU Credit Union, a division of Goldenwest, is donating $2,000 to the local Latino Education Network, a program for Latino Communities. Dr. Hector Mendiola, head of the program, accepted the check on behalf of the program Friday, November 14th in Logan High School's Technology Multicultural Center.

USU Credit Union's contribution to the program allows instructors to reward students with mini scholarships for their hard work. "USU Credit Union is proud to support the important mission of the Latino Education Network," stated David Butterfield, USU Credit Union Regional President. "We feel this donation is an investment in a proven program that provides critical educational opportunities for people in our community."

USU Extension founded the program to help parents and children in Hispanic families become more proficient with technology and the English language. This program leads to academic opportunities, opens doors for better employment prospects, and helps families assimilate to their communities.
